The Rainbow Goby (Stiphodon ornatus) is a small, colorful fish native to Indonesian streams that can live up to 2 years. They are known for their peaceful nature and algae-eating habits, making them suitable for community tanks. Base body color ranges from pale olive to dark brown, with dark-edged scales. Dominant males display bright shades of blue, orange, and red. Females are more subdued, with two dark lateral stripes. They will grow to about 2-3 inches and prefer sandy or rocky bottom. These gobies eat biofilm and fine foods sifted from the water and substrate.
